Where did the year go? Time flies when your stuck in traffic lol. I know I been out of the loop for a while just been working the single and doing the hollywoood shuffle as usual. Im finally coming down the home stretch with the entire album. Im in the lab right now with Brandy recording a duet I wrote called "Fear of Flying" which Im really feeling I hope you concur. Brandy is probably the most incredible vocalists I've ever worked with hands down and I've worked with a few! The song is about facing your fears when it comes to opening yourself up in relationships a very relatable topic for myself I might add but thats another blog day. So anyway make sure you tune in to 102.3 on November the 30th myself and Jon b are doing a live performance on the radio at 10pm sharp with host Kevin Nash so tune in! We'll also be performing live on December the 6th at the J Spot in LA. And last but not least Im doing my first annual benefit concert/toydrive on December the 9th at R n B live in Hollywood its me and a bunch of my fellow artists performing live all I need you to do is bring a unwrapped toy for the kids doors open at 9PM should be a great event for a great cause. Keith just love the kids. Well I gotta run to rehearsal but I pray all is well with you this holiday season and hope to see you at both shows in LA and if you dont live here I'll be in a city near you shortly. Check out me here in the lab with superproducer/songwriter "Pooh Bear" you may not have heard his name but you definitely have heard his songs. He's written for Usher, Chris brown, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, Elvis etc., etc. and now me! Just kidding about Elvis lol. Peace and Love ttys!
I just got back from DC for their homecoming and truly had a blast with some of my fellow artists like Luda, Chico Benymon, Essence Atkins, Lance Gross, Tarajii Henson, a whole crew of us. First night was celebrity basketball with the And 1 crew and Omarion. Yeah we lost but I did my thing and the energy was amazing from the crowd actually felt like a real game straight out of Spike Lee's "School Daze" fllick. The energy and love the students and returning alumni have for their school really made me wish I had been a part of the student experience there but then again with all the beautiful distractions there perhaps my stay would have been limited lol. Between the Yard Fest concert on campus, the many parties, and the parade I was completely exhausted but very flattered by how myself and my peoples were treated and appreciated for there bodies of work even now I sometimes forget that so many people are watching. A truly motivating weekend. The singles have neen out for a week now and doing very well thanks to everyone who downloaded them. I'lll be coming to a city near you real soon! nd if you haven't heard them they're called "Gurl" and "Dj Lady". Speaking of which Im doing a nationwide search for the leading lady in my first video. Theres so many beautuful women i.e. D.C. that we'll never see in movies and videos that should be so I'm gonna find someone brand new. So if your interested hit me up on my myspace at keithrobinsonofficial or my facebook at keithrobinsonsings@gmail and drop me a few lines, send me a pic, and upload my single. Im looking right now so lets do this! Ima sign off now Im still trying re-coup from the weekend and in the immortal words of Dr.Dre "detox". Happy Halloween and be safe this weekend. . . .
Two days away from releasing a couple singles and I must say I am pretty excited but more so relieved that I get to finally be heard. Shout out to all the artists who were a part of and continue to be a part of this process! I just finished recording in Vegas with PoohBear incredible songwriter who's written for the likes of Usher, Jill Scott, Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Lupe Fiasco damn near everybody seems like. We went to R n B live the other night and seemed like half of the covers people would come up and sing he had written! Pretty amazing to hear one of your songs on the radio everyday I imagine. The craziest part of the recording process with him is where we recorded. It was this beautiful compound with real fully grown wolves in the front yard and two cheetahs and a spider monkey in the house. Amazing how these wild animals just co-exist with human beings like its nothing. The first morning I woke up I was greeted at the door by a cheetah looking dead at me like "who are you". Needless to say I didn’t come out to use the bathroom until two hours later when the owners woke up. I hope I never have to hold my pee that long again lol. by the time I left though I was watching tv with the cheetahs posted right beside me. Really kinda surreal because even though you knew the animal was house broken the fact that if he could change his mind wild out on me made me complete;y respectful of his home and space and I think he appreciated that lol. Anyway we came up with some great songs to add to the album how could you not in such a creative environment. Got a few more songs left with Mark Nelson (AZ YEt) and Lil G (Silk) and about to record a duet with Brandy who I've been a huge fan of from day one. Feeling good right about now. Got a show the October 28th and November the 18th in LA. I'll keep you posted on as well. Oh yeah went to see Maxwell Friday he ripped it had good seats too couldn’t help but wanna do a Lil Mama run on stage and do my thing. But my time will come says the universe. Well on my way to DC for Howards Homecoming I should have plenty to tell you about when I return. Peace look out for the single "Gurl" in a city near you. Its finally time to sing hope your listening. . . .

Is it me or is time rushing by us at an unbelievable pace. The weeks seem to stack up faster than you can make a decision on what to do with them. I guess in all our texting and blogging and preparing for the next "big thing" it becomes so easy to forget to breathe and enjoy the moment. Something I'm still trying to figure out in the midst of pursuing my dreams. Im in reflective mode today because even though my week was fairly rountine gym, studio, audition etc.... I did something I have never done in public before. I actually talked about how it has affected me spiritually. You walk around, especially as an artist, with your represenative always telling the public that everything is fine even if sometimes thats not the truth. "Never let them see you sweat" is the code to live by. So yesterday I stepped out of code and went on a show called "Lift every voice" on BET and REALLY talked about my journey the good, the bad ,the ugly. Kinda of an outer body experience of sorts because I never speak on what's really going on inside. I was always taught like most men growing up emotion or any expressed form of it can sometimes put you at a dis-advantage so keep it to yourself. Here I was talking about my strengths,my weaknesses, my doubts, and my relationship with God in front of milloins. . . .lol Just like me to jump off a cliff head first. Actually a little scary but liberating at the same time. Maybe it will help somebody else who's thinking or has thought the same things I have. There's gotta be somebody out there. I had almost forgotten alot of the things that have happened to me up to this point that even got me here writing a blog and looking back its pretty amazing. As I prep for the world to see another side of me muscially (October the 20th by the way) it was a blessing to even get a chance to reflect and have someone listen even if it was a t.v. interview. Make peace with your past, good or bad I say, and it wont screw up your present. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. I am learning to love the grind. Might as well casue it aint going nowhere. Feel me. . . .

What's good people just checking in hope all is well. Had a pretty tedious week but topped it off with a great weekend in Kansas City. Myself and some other fellow artists played in the annual Clay Johnson Foundation charity basketball game. We were treated royally and the fans and the kids really enjoyed it and so did we! I almost didn't make the trip because I was exhausted from the weekly "hollywood shuffle" but I'm so glad I did. You spend so much time trying to find the next gig or write the next song or career hustling sometimes you forget just how blessed you are to even be able to pursue your dreams and how your work really affects the lives of so many. And at the end of the day if you can make a difference in the lives of other people or make them feel good by your craft it's so worth it. That is the true gift and priveledge of being an artist. I grew up in a small town. I was the kid who wanted to be like the people I saw on tv and the musicians who came to town for autograph sessions and charity games. It was so amazing to see that same look I had on my face on the faces of the kids this weekend. I think I had more fun than they did. I think its so necessary for artists to stay connected. So to my other fellow artists who read this always remember your gifts have a purpose and can affect the lives of so many people it is the true reason at the end of the day why we hustle like we do. Its bigger than money. We are instruments, share your music. Feel me. Log onto the Clay Johnson Foundation for more information about how to be a part in the Kansas City area. . . .
